If you’re looking for a more sustainable solution for railroad crossties, switch ties, bridge timbers and pilings, Nisus Corporation has the answers. We manufacture copper naphthenate under the QNAP® brand and a Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate (DOT) borate wood preservative under the Cellu-Treat® brand.
QNAP® and Cellu-Treat are both EPA-registered, general-use wood preservatives standardized by the American Wood Protection Association (AWPA).
QNAP can be applied as a stand-alone treatment or paired with Cellu-Treat for dual protection. Likewise, Cellu-Treat can be combined with QNAP—or even integrated into other tie and timber treatments—to extend durability. Together, these proven solutions not only protect against decay and insects but also support a more sustainable, greener approach to tie and timber preservation. Let us show you how incorporating QNAP and Cellu-Treat can help your company build a stronger, environmentally responsible program.
QNAP is an 8% oil-borne copper naphthenate solution that is an EPA-registered, non-restricted/general use preservative also standardized for use by the AWPA (P36).
Cellu-Treat is a Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate (DOT) wood preservative that is available in a 98% water soluble powder and a 50% liquid concentrate.
The BTX system allows the addition of Cellu-Treat borate to the heartwood of green bridge ties so railroads can take advantage of all the benefits of dual treatment in the Bridge Tie Program
A 2% oil-borne preservative that can be used in the field as a brush on application for end-cuts, dap cuts, drill holes and other applications where treated wood needs protection.
