BORATE SCIENTIST MARK MANNING JOINS NISUS

Knoxville, TN, March 12, 2019 – Nisus Corporation, a leading manufacturer of sustainable wood preservatives and pest control products, welcomes Mark Manning, PhD, as its new Business Development Manager. As an expert who has focused his research in the area of borates as biocides for engineered wood products, Manning will be an essential part of Nisus’ continued growth as a global leader in borate-based technology.

Manning holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from UCLA and worked with U.S. Borax for almost 30 years. This experience in borates and their use in wood preservation and material protection makes him an expert in the field. Additionally, he led the commercial development of the use of zinc borate (ZB) as a preservative treatment for engineered wood products such as oriented strand board (OSB) and laminated strand lumber (LSL), and is considered an authority on the preservative treatment of wood composites.
