Knoxville, TN, March 12, 2019 – Nisus Corporation, a leading manufacturer of sustainable wood preservatives and pest control products, welcomes Mark Manning, PhD, as its new Business Development Manager. As an expert who has focused his research in the area of borates as biocides for engineered wood products, Manning will be an essential part of Nisus’ continued growth as a global leader in borate-based technology.

"I’m excited to be joining Nisus Corporation, an organization that is expanding their efforts into R&D in support of new applications and preservative systems at a time when most other organizations are reducing their resources in these areas which are critical to supporting the growth of our customers,” says Manning. “I’m looking forward to working once again with my former colleague Dr. Jeff Lloyd as well as the rest of the Nisus team.”

Manning holds a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from UCLA and worked with U.S. Borax for almost 30 years. This experience in borates and their use in wood preservation and material protection makes him an expert in the field. Additionally, he led the commercial development of the use of zinc borate (ZB) as a preservative treatment for engineered wood products such as oriented strand board (OSB) and laminated strand lumber (LSL), and is considered an authority on the preservative treatment of wood composites.

Nisus continues to meet the growing needs of their customers. As the industry evolves, Nisus is rapidly becoming a resource for professionals around the globe and continues striving to position the company as an industry leader in boron and copper products. The addition of Dr. Manning’s expertise will strengthen the Nisus technical team and the support of their customers.

Nisus Corporation is the leading manufacturer of sustainable pest control products and also provides sustainable wood preservatives to the railroad, utility and lumber industries from its headquarters in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains in Rockford, Tennessee. Nisus has experienced rapid growth since its beginning in 1990 and distributes more than 30 products to eight different industries across the United States and in seven international markets.
