American Chemistry Council

Nisus is located near the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, which gives us a special appreciation for the beauty of nature. This appreciation naturally leads to a desire to protect the environment in the work that we do. Our Bora-Care product has saved over 600,000,000 gallons of soil termiticide from being pumped into the ground, and our QNAP copper naphthenate product is replacing creosote in railroad ties and pentachlorophenol in utility poles.

While the work we do is important for the environment, it is equally important for companies to examine the way they do the work. Doing our work in sustainable ways is one of the reasons Nisus joined the American Chemistry Council (ACC). ACC's members are the leading companies engaged in all aspects of the business of chemistry. They are creating the groundbreaking products that are improving the world all around us by making it healthier, safer, more sustainable and more productive. In addition to membership in ACC, Nisus signed the Responsible Care Guiding Principles. Voluntarily committing Nisus to Responsible Care is a significant and ongoing pledge to putting safety first, using best practices to protect the environment, submitting to third party auditing and being held accountable for continual progress in these areas.
