Getting the slab poured in a commercial structure is a critical swing point of any project. Once the slab is poured many of the other trades can begin work. Architects and builders love the fact the a Bora-Care Commercial treatment allows them to get to that slab pour quicker.

A Closer Look - How Does Bora-Care Commercial Work?

Bora-Care Commercial is a liquid termiticide that is applied to the first 2 feet of a structure by your pest control company. It is applied to all concrete, wood, steel and other building materials. Bora-Care Commercial treated materials cannot be consumed by termites, but just as important, termites cannot build mud tubes across Bora-Care Commercial treated materials.

Subterranean termites require moisture to live. So when they leave the ground they must build the mud tubes to keep themselves moist.

As they build the tubes, the top of the tube is moist. This causes the Bora-Care Commercial to re-liquefy, and causes the termites to die. The rest of the termites then abandon the tube.

The active ingredient in Bora-Care Commercial is DOT made from a borate mineral salt that contains boron. Boron is a natural element mined from the earth. Boron combined with other minerals such as sodium is generally referred to as a borate.

There are many borate products on the market. In fact, at Nisus we sell six other borate products all labeled for termites, but no other product sold by Nisus or any other company performs as a barrier to protect the entire structure.

In fact, Bora-Care is the only borate termiticide with product-specific efficacy data to successfully complete the EPA 5-year efficacy requirements needed to be registered as a primary new construction termite treatment.

Bora-Care has over 27 combined years of independent University field studies, and has been successfully used for more than 10 years on over 750,000 structures in the United States.

Bora-Care earns Green Points under most of the green building rating systems including LEED, EarthCraft, and NAHB Green. Bora-Care was also the winner of the 2006 Green Builder Magazine Best of Show award.
